Allis Chalmers Energy Services possess experience extending over decades related to application, design and manufacturing of Polycrystalline Diamond Compacts (PDC) for down-hole tools that include bits and motor bearings. As our internal usage continued to increase over years, a decision was made to utilize our expertise in manufacturing of PDC products. This project began in the second half of 2007 and we successfully started producing and using hammer bit insets in our manufacturing facility by early 2008. Today over 95% of internal requirement is met by our process based on Cubic Press system for creating high pressure and high temperature conditions. PDC cutters for fixed head bits and motor bearings and cutting tools have found successful usage. These products are now being made available to the oil gas, and cutting tool industry.
