Oilfield Services: Underbalanced Drilling Services
Allis-Chalmers is one of the world's largest providers of underbalanced drilling services. Allis-Chalmers provides underbalanced drilling services through its wholly-owned subsidiary AirComp. Underbalanced drilling is used to drill oil and gas wells in which wellbore pressure is kept lower than fluid pressure in the formation being drilled. This is in contrast to most cases in which the wellbore pressure is kept higher than the pressure in the formation to prevent formation fluid from entering the well. Our Underbalanced Drilling Division provides compressed air equipment, chemicals and other specialized products that allow operators to conduct petroleum and geothermal drilling and completion and workover operations on underbalanced wells.
